Government Wide: Education and Literacy

VICTORIA – A combined investment of $20 million by the Province and school districts for projects to improve the energy efficiency and air quality in interior and northern-B.C. schools will create up to 128 direct jobs as part of the Province’s $14-billion public infrastructure program, Education Minister Shirley Bond announced today.
COMOX – The Province is investing $24.9 million for a new Conseil scolaire francophone school at the former Village Park Elementary school site
SURREY – The federal and provincial governments are providing $4.9 million to Kwantlen Polytechnic University to improve energy efficiency, improve the indoor climate for students and staff, and prevent water damage in the exterior walls of buildings on the Surrey Campus.
VANCOUVER – A total of 23 B.C. schools are sharing $50,000 to recognize their students’ environmental projects as winners of the first B.C. Green Games, Education Minister Shirley Bond announced.
