Smoke visible from burnoff operation on 150 Mile House fire

WILLIAMS LAKE – BC Wildfire Service crews will conduct a controlled burnoff operation on the 150 Mile House wildfire on July 14, 2017 to help create a clear and safe perimeter where ground crews can work.

A significant smoke column is expected to be visible for the duration of the burn. This burnoff will be supported by aircraft during and following the operation.

As of the afternoon of July 14, the 150 Mile House wildfire covers about 2,600 hectares. Ninety-six firefighting personnel are on site with 22 pieces of heavy equipment, air support and additional support staff.
