B.C. COVID-19 pandemic update | |
VICTORIA – As of Thursday, July 8, 2021, 79.6% (3,442,410) of all eligible adults in B.C. and 78.4% (3,635,811) of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, 42.8% (1,851,792) of all eligible adults in B.C. and 40.0% (1,854,387) of those 12 and older have received their second dose. B.C. is reporting 59 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 147,915 cases in the province. There are currently 649 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 145,491 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 74 individuals are currently in hospital and 19 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation. The new/active cases include:
