COVID-19 pandemic update | |
VICTORIA – As of Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, 89.9% (4,481,509) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 84% (4,187,417) have received their second dose. In addition, 92.7% (4,298,551) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.1% (4,175,103) have received their second dose and 46.4% (2,152,427) have received a third dose. Also, 93.1% (4,026,371) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.5% (3,915,756) received their second dose and 49.7% (2,150,480) have received a third dose. B.C. is reporting 1,236 new cases of COVID-19, including two new epi-linked cases, for a total of 325,851 cases in the province. There are 28,302 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 293,488 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 1,035 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital and 139 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation. The new/active cases include:

There are two new health-care facility outbreaks at Tsawaayuus Rainbow Gardens and Berwick on The Lake (Island Health). The outbreaks at Menno Hospital, Buchanan Lodge, Eden Care Centre (Fraser Health), Royal Jubilee Hopsital and Comox Valley Seniors Village (Island Health) have been declared over, for a total of 55 facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:
