RICHMOND – Drivers are advised nighttime lane closures will occur in the George Massey Tunnel starting at 10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, while crews carry out maintenance work.

The overnight single-lane closures will continue through March and are required as part of ongoing preparations for construction of the new tunnel.

Nightly lane closures will be in effect as many as seven days a week, in the following schedule:

• Monday-Friday: 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. (northbound); 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. (southbound)
• Saturday-Sunday: 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. (northbound and southbound)

Travel in both directions will be maintained at all times through the tunnel. Signs will be posted and traffic-control crews will be on site. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and pay attention to all signage and the direction of traffic-control personnel.
